Donors’ Forum is composed of leaders from different sectors of the nonprofit and philanthropy worlds. Each month – September through June – we interview a person with perspective and experience that we feel is of interest to our members. We gather to share insights and questions about best practices, innovative ways of working, and challenges in the field.

MARCH 2026

ANDREW LUNETTA

MARCH 25, 2026

8:30am - 9:30am ET

Please join us for our next Donors' Forum meeting on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026.  We will be on Zoom.

Donors' Forum meetings run from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. (EDT)  We begin and end precisely on time.  Please note: We record our discussions and archive them on our website, so that they will be available in the future.

Our guest will be Andrew Lunetta, the founder and executive director of A Tiny Home for Good, a charity whose mission is to end homelessness in Syracuse, New York.

Prior to founding A Tiny Home for Good, Andrew worked as a shelter aid at The Oxford Street Inn (a now defunct men’s shelter) for nearly a decade. During that time, he learned that the permanent housing that was affordable to these men typically meant having a roommate, or maybe a small room with a shared bathroom down the hall - in buildings rife with code violations, vermin infestations, and a concentration of individuals who were suffering from mental health and addiction issues. It became crystal clear why many of them returned to the shelter after a matter of weeks.

Andrew figured there must be a better way.  In our discussion with Andrew, we'll learn about that better way.

The website lists links to several news stories - all heart-warming.  One story, recently aired on WSYR, the ABC-affiliated television station for Central New York, begins with this: "For eight months Rhea Holmes was homeless, sleeping in Oakwood Cemetery on her husband’s grave."  You can read the rest of the story and watch the news clip here.  A Tiny Home for Good was also featured on CBS's Sunday Morning program about a month ago.

Andrew was also interviewed on Talk CNY Miniseries.  It's about 15 minutes long and well worth watching.

You can read about A Tiny Home for Good here, and more about Andrew Lunetta here.

As always, those who join us will engage in an interactive, discussion-oriented format.  Doug White, a thought leader on nonprofits and philanthropy, whose most recent book is "Wounded Charity" (2019), is the moderator.

Note: Out of respect to our speaker, if you sign up, please attend.

Please register (RSVP) through Zoom.

Many thanks!

Deborah & Brittany
